Neopets Battledome Developer Update: Banned & Restricted List 8/25/26

Darigan’s Paint Brush
Ever since the release of Champions of Meridell, Darigan Neopets have been the dominant choice in tournament play. Being the only Rainbow Pool Neopets capable of maintaining card advantage made Darigan Neopets uniquely powerful and meta warping. This has only grown over time, with every archetype running Darigan Neopets regardless of whether they cared for the synergy of being able to discard cards. While we like powerful Rainbow Pools, having such reliable access to a card draw engine as early as turn 1 has proved far too powerful and far too centralizing to the meta. As such, Darigan’s Paint Brush is banned. As a note, Darigan Neopets will remain legal to run in the Rainbow Pool and will remain limited, despite the Paint Brush being gone.

Neopets Battledome Trading Card Game – Return of Dr. Sloth Teaser
Something lurks in the sky above the Virtupets Space Station. For years, the citizens of Neopia thought the threat was neutralized and that the dark, mechanical shadow of the past had dissipated into the cosmos.
They were wrong.
Dr. Sloth has returned in an attempt to take control of Neopia. Here’s what you can look forward to in the Neopets Battledome TCG Return of Dr. Sloth set! Just a reminder, some of these hints may only contain snippets of information to not spoil the whole effect.
Here are a few things to look forward to in the upcoming set:
– Over 200 New Cards
– New Card Rarity
– 2 New Teams
– A Purple Base Neopet
– ALT ART!
These are some text lines from cards, some of these are partial excerpts:
– “… Gain 10 Attack, 10 Defense, and 10 Agility until the end of the next turn. Make 4 additional attacks this turn.”
– “Fetch 1 card with “attack” in its card effect from your deck.”
– “Destroy 1 card on your side of the Battledome. If you do, fetch 1 card from your deck.”
– “Target 1 card in the Battledome; void it.”
– “Randomly destroy 1 card in you opponent’s inventory. If it was a Legend, draw 2 cards and deal 2 damage to your opponent’s Neopet.”
– “Target any number of cards in the Battledome; destroy those cards. Deal 1 damage to your opponent’s Neopet for each card destroyed this way.”
